Signs in the Sky

Signs in the Sky coverIn this rivetingly told archaeological, detective story, Adrian Gilbert takes us on his own quest for knowledge as he sought for and eventually found the keys that would unlock some of the deepest prophecies contained in the Bible. It is his belief that the signs which we have been told to seek as harbingers of a new aeon (notably in the St Matthew Gospel) are now visibly in the sky. These signs, scientifically exact in their meaning and in keeping with the ancient philosophical systems that underpin the Old and New Testaments, indicate that we really are living through the birth of a new age.

The prophets of the ancient world, in their search for a fixed calendar on which to inscribe dates for events far in the future, looked to the skies. In a world before electric light, the fixed and immutable firmament was nearly always visible at night. The revolution of the stars and the progression of the constellations making up the zodiac gave measurements of time more accurate and long lasting than any watch. Thus it was that Man derived his calendar from the cosmos itself. Many of the greatest works of the ancient world were designed to mark out the natural cycles of time traced by the sun, moon and stars. In particular the astrologically aligned pyramids and obelisks of Egypt were designed to record the progress of the years, counting down steadily to year zero: the end of one age and the birth of another.

Signs in the Sky presents the evidence for believing that an ancient "School of Prophets" understood much about the cosmos and used natural time-cycles to mark out the course of history. For them the cosmos seemed somehow much closer and more relevant than it does today. Among other things they believed that there were specific doorways or gates leading in and out of "heaven". These portals were believed to be located at the points where the ecliptic (the pathway followed by the sun in its annual progression along the zodiac) crosses over the Milky Way. Significantly the sun now sits at one or other of these gateways at the solstices. By a process of analogy: "As Above, so Below", this indicates that it is now that these "star-gates" are opening.
