These were written around the time of the millennium but they are even more relevant now than they were then. To an objective viewer it is clear that since June 21 2000 the world has gone through some profound changes. politically there has been the trauma of first the attack on the twin towers of the World Tade Centre in New York on September 11 2001. This has been followed by military interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq, further radicalizing of almost the entire Muslim world, increased tension between America and Russia, the further evolution of the EU into a new Roman Empire and a deteriorating situation throughout most of Africa.

In parallel with these political events we have witnessed the extraordinary rise of China to a position where it looks set to become the next super-power.

Ecologically speaking, climate change seems to be gathering pace. While I don't agree with the theory that this is being caused by increases in C02 in the atmosphere, there is no denying that our weather is changing at a remarkable rate.

Add to this the huge and extraordinary migrations that are taking place in Europe and America and we can see that this really is a time of major change.

Much of this was predictable in the year 2000 and there is, I believe, further change to come. This will reach some sort of crisis point in the year 2012: when the Mayan calendar comes to the end of its present cycle with the sun positioned at the southern stargate.
